When GPS drops, most drones drift. StarEdge Pharos™ doesn’t. Built exclusively by Rendeer Systems as part of the StarEdge™ AI product family, Pharos is a perception-driven navigation module that guides UAVs through warehouses, forests, canyons, and contested RF environments—without relying on GNSS. It fuses low-frequency acoustic homing with camera-based localization and inertial sensing, then feeds a robust state estimate to your flight controller so you can keep flying indoors and out.
Pharos listens with a compact MEMS microphone array to detect sub-100 Hz cues that cut through prop wash and wind, while the onboard vision stack provides odometry and optional target or fiducial tracking to lock position when acoustics or magnetics get messy. A confidence-weighted fusion filter blends vision, acoustics, IMU and barometer, automatically adjusting each modality as conditions change and maintaining a stable solution even when one sensor degrades.
Integration is straightforward. Pharos runs at the edge and publishes guidance over MAVLink to PX4 or ArduPilot, with ROS 2 topics and a lightweight SDK for custom behaviors. The module offers stereo or dual-FOV camera options, configurable mic arrays, and common I/O (UART, Ethernet, GPIO triggers) in a compact form factor suited to small airframes. On-device tools visualize spectra, bearings and VO/SLAM health in real time, and flight logs can be replayed offline for tuning and mission analysis. Designed for the places GPS can’t reach: interiors and sublevels, dense canopy, and environments where GNSS is jammed or spoofed. Whether you’re inspecting infrastructure, mapping indoors, or flying rapid-response missions, StarEdge Pharos™ keeps your vehicle on course when signals fade.
